Director, Finance for Revenue Cycle Operations

Reporting to the VP/Administrator. Participates in driving business plan, hospital, regional and health system goals by partnering with executive administrator, corporate and leadership within the Revenue Cycle.

Leadership: Financial administrative leadership team member, serving as financial expert and strategic analytical support, partnering as necessary to execute and drive annual strategic plan, operationalize annual goals, and lead daily financial operations. Specific administrative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To manage the overall financial operations of the Revenue Cycle, including ensuring integrity of position control for all FTE s onshore and offshore
  • Serve as a bridge between finance and operations by illuminating performance gaps and realities.
  • To maintain close partnerships with other hospital, clinic and campus departments finance, Payroll, etc.
  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close process including calculation of key performance indicators for hospital and physician metrics
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Provide leadership and direction to; Payment Posting Manager, AR Manager and respective staff.

Operational Leadership

  • Revenue Cycle: Responsible for shared services, KPI calculations, incentives, timely billing and collections in the hospital departments
  • Finance-Responsible for working with entities not limited, to Navigant and all Client relations, as stakeholders in this collaboration.
  • Revenue Cycle Project Management: Supports optimization projects throughout Revenue Cycle.


  • BA / BS Degree required
  • Proven working experience in Revenue Cycle
  • 7 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • CPA, CHFP or other revenue cycle certifications a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills

  • Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
  • Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
  • Generally works in an office environment
