Mechanical Design Engineer Kelly Services is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for one of our top Aerospace clients in Madison, AL. This is an open ended contract position with no end date (Several years long) Responsibilities:

  • The Engineer is responsible for design of 3D models and drawings in Solidworks, and for producing supporting systems documentation.
  • Perform design of tooling, robotic cells, and other components for system integration, along with other Engineering functions.
  • Design and create drawings and 3D models using Solidworks.
  • Convert 2D CAD files to 3D models in Solidworks.
  • Develop supporting documentation (Master Parts List, Engineering Change Orders, Purchase Requests, Operating Manuals, etc.)
  • Maintain and organize engineering drawings and related files.
  • Perform project management.


  • Bachelors degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in engineering
  • 2-3 years experience required in CAD design
  • Must understand the use of all production equipment.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must be familiar with and understand all procedures and specifications relating to assembly, testing, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Ability to use precision instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturer and engineering drawings, warranties, installation layouts, sketches, schematics, technical manuals, etc.
